This is a wonderful recipe. Since I did not have a yellow cake mix available, I used an orange supreme cake mix and it was awesome. Will definitely keep this and do over and over again. Thanks for sharing!

We love this. For company we cut it in half, frost both tops and put one on top of the other one and frost the sides, looks like it came from the bakery.

does anyone know if you can use actual whipped cram instead of cool whip? when I found out what was really in cool whip I haven't used it since....usually sub whipping cream in other recipes just fine but sometimes it does not work. any one try it w whipped cream?

I just made this cake this afternoon & it has to be one of the best tasting cakes I have tried in a very long time. The recipe will be going in my special file cause it's definately going to be a regular in my house. I plan on using the topping on other cakes as well. It is soooo good. Thankyou

I would have rather spent my time and energy making a cake that was more favorable. It is quick, but that doesnt make it better.

In North Carolina, this is called a "Pig Picken Cake"! We make it in 3 layers and is best when refridgerated over night. Very yummy!!!

I relly like this moist flavorful cake but am disappointed that I don't taste the mandarin oranges. I taste alot of the pineapple, but not the oranges. I think next time I make it I'll put extra orange extract in and not the mandarins.

I got this recipe a while back from a friend. This cake is very refreshing and light. For ease in mixing the cake I usually add the juice from the oranges with the eggs and cake mix and blend them thoroughly and then stir in the oranges. I found that when I add the oranges with the juice the mix does not always thoroughly mix. Otherwise, this is one of my favorite cakes. Also, I make it WITHOUT the oil and it comes out just fine. I have also baked it using the cake mix, oranges, eggs and a can of diet orange soda; again leaving out the oil. Both have worked well.
